Robots in the Snow

There is no point really – except this site is called Snersbots. We hardly get any snow in our part of the world, so when we heard the forecast, we quickly put in for some time off work.

Had to travel a bit to find a suitable spot. And when we found it, it was tipping down with snow. Very cold, a lot of fun, and ended up with wet knees from kneeling in the snow. Here’s hoping it snows again tomorrow.

Skania is my original robot. Arduino for the brain and a distance sensor at the front – which adds character because it looks like eyes. It moves very slowly but generally manages to avoid obstacles.

PiBot is still under construction. Raspberry Pi for the brain, and some nice fast motors. I have not yet put in the distance sensors, so it only works remove control at the moment.

In the end the snow came to us, so we could get a proper snowman for the robots to play with.
